Revolutionizing Oral Care with Innovative Round Disc Bristle Design and Intuitive Directional Controls.
Smartline toothbrush is the concept for an innovative toothbrush that uses a round disc bristle design to promote brushing from the gums to the teeth, as dentists recommend.
To achieve this goal, Ermit worked together with the customer to finalize a design concept of the toothbrush body and the button that would facilitate the user in choosing the brushing direction, and the grip of the body to facilitate the operation on the buttons. To facilitate the user in selecting the correct rotation, we have inserted four buttons, each indicating the portion of the mouth affected by a specific brushing direction.
The shape of the button corresponds to that of the arches in order to guide the user in brushing having a visual reference. The handle must be comfortable, and the position of the button must allow the user to easily change the direction of brushing while brushing his teeth. The oval shape of the button is the input for the development of the concept of the body that is generated from elliptical shapes excluding more geometric squared shapes for an ergonomic issue.
From the concept phase we moved on to the design phase, taking into account the dimensions of the electronics and mechanics and consequently to the prototype phase.
